Technology
Three systems, zero downtime.
An electric motorcycle is only worth its energy and what it can tell you about itself. Mobelec builds all three layers: the battery, the network that replaces it, and the telemetry that watches both.
01 · Battery
A battery you lift with one hand.
Next-generation lithium-ion, sized for heat and dust. Up to 80 km per charge, 160 km in the dual configuration. Overheat and overcharge protection, continuous state-of-health monitoring.
- 01 Removable and portable: charge it at home, at the office, or swap it at a station.
- 02 Resistant to heat, dust and rain. Built to IEC standards.
- 03 Remote diagnostics: charge state, cycle count, abnormal temperatures.
- 04 Detection of uncertified batteries and chargers.
02 · Network
Empty for full, in under two minutes.
Charging takes hours. Swapping takes as long as a coffee. The first Mobelec station is live at the showroom; four more are planned across Dakar. The goal is simple: no Mobelec rider more than 10–15 km from a full battery.

Swapping is pay-per-use. The rate depends on energy consumed and wear — and stays below the cost of an equivalent tank of petrol.

03 · Telemetry
The bike tells you where it is and how it's doing.
Every Mobelec carries an IoT module wired to a single platform. For a private rider that's theft insurance; for a fleet manager it's a dashboard.
Distance, consumption, battery health and alerts, per vehicle and per rider.
-
Located to 3 metres
Real-time GPS tracking, better than 3-metre accuracy, full trip history.
-
Geofencing and immobilisation
Draw a perimeter, get an alert when it's crossed, cut the bike remotely if it's stolen.
-
Impact and tamper alerts
Immediate notification on a crash, a fall or a break-in attempt.
-
Over-the-air updates
The bike's software improves without a workshop visit (FOTA).

FAQ
01 What's the real range?
Up to 80 km per charge depending on model, load and riding style. The dual-battery option takes that to 160 km without stopping. At a station, a swap takes under two minutes.
02 How much does a battery swap cost?
Swapping is pay-per-use. The rate depends on energy consumed and battery wear, and is set to stay below the cost of an equivalent tank of petrol.
03 Is financing available?
Yes. Mobelec works with financial institutions and public programmes to offer instalment plans, lease-to-own and access to grants, for individuals and companies alike.
04 How does charging work?
On a standard socket at home or the office, in a few hours. At a swap station, in under two minutes. On a public charger, as the network expands.
05 What about the rainy season?
Mobelec bikes are built to ride in the rain. Battery and motor are sealed and meet IEC water-ingress standards. Unlike a petrol bike, there is no ignition system to be upset by humidity. Avoid deep water crossings and dry the bike after heavy exposure.
06 What's it worth after three years?
Lower running and maintenance costs make an electric bike up to 30 % cheaper over its lifetime than a petrol equivalent. Resale value holds up as the market shifts to electric.
